Let me tell you about McKayla. When she was little I use to love to tote her around and play baby with her. We have a lot of good memories playing together, especially with Polly Pockets. We liked to make videos and sing songs in my video camera that I got one Christmas. We collected a lot of stuff animals and we played outside a lot.
Her and I shared a room with each other most of the time and we also fought a lot. I remember a time where we put duck tape down the middle of our room so that the other wouldn't step on "our" side of the room. Out of all the siblings, her and I got the most physical with each other. I remember a time when we were fighting and she threw a high heel shoe at me and got me right in the eye and I was so mad I went and punched her in the throat. We both came out of that crying and me with a black eye and her short of breath. The neat thing though about all that was that even if we didn't apologize, an hour later we would be over it and be friends again. We have definitely had our ups and downs but I feel as time goes on me continue to get closer. And no matter what we fight about we both know we love each other.
I was so happy I had the opportunity to play basketball with her my last year of high school. I remember sitting in the locker room and she would braid my bangs for me and I would the same with her.
I also remember a time in high school when a boy didn't treat me so well and she went up to him and chewed him out. I couldn't believe it. She has always had my back.
We also seemed to match all the time owning the same sweats, sweatshirts, basketball shorts, and pants. She hated that but I loved it!
If I had to describe McKayla I would say; sarcastic, a hoot, brave, beautiful, strong, laid back, chill, takes no crap, different, weird, independent, soft hearted, smart, has a beautiful singing voice, and witty. She is not one to brag but let me tell you, she graduated and ranked 5th out of all the other seniors! That is a huge accomplishment!
I am beyond excited that she will be going to Utah State this fall. She is going into Business and she is going to love Logan I know it! We get asked a lot whether we are rooming together. And although we love each other, we would probably kill each other if we lived with one another. We shared a room most of our lives, we don't want to again! haha I'm just excited for her to experience life out of high school! To experience being on your own and oh how much fun college is!
But me being selfish, I think I'm more excited to have her just living a block from me and knowing that I have her there. I loved having Shana there for me my freshman year and I hope that I can be that sister that she comes to if she needs me just like Shana was to me. So cheers for graduation, for summer, for that fact that we both got hired at the same jobs, to Utah State, to having her be on my intramural basketball team, and most of to having the best little sister out there!
I love you McKayla!
