I'm sorry it has been awhile! But i have been so crazy busy! But i must warn you that this is going to be probably my longest post yet! VERY LONG!!!! So much to tell!
So last week me and Aimee went in to donate plasma like we normally do. We go in twice a week and get $220 a month..... so my second job!!! Well I decided to donate from my right arm this time instead of my left like i normally do. The guy was looking at my veins and he said i had a huge juicy one just chilling. So i was like "heck yes, this will go by a little faster hopefully"! He sticks me and IT HURT!! Normally it doesn't hurt that bad but this time it hurt a lot more and i didn't know why. So i start donate and things are going fine and its going pretty fast. But when it came time to have my blood returned to my during my first round it started to hurt. Donating never hurts! So i was wondering what the heck was going on! After a while it started hurting more and more. I look down at my arm and it is like purplish and swollen and there was like a pocket of blood under my skin. The blood being returned to me wasn't going back into my vein.... WHAT THE FREAK!!! I yelled at someone to get over here and he was like "we are going to have to jiggle the needle around to find the vein again". Right when he said that i almost passed out. I got hit with nausea and i felt so sick. It got really black and i couldn't really hear. I was on the verge of passing out. I told him no way was he going to touch that needle. I was soaking wet from sweat and i was so cold. They ran and got a garbage can for me and a icepack to put behind my neck and some water. They also elevated my legs. I was sooo embarrassed! There was like 10 other people around me donating! I felt stupid! But i felt sick! He eventually decided he was just going to return all the blood to me as much as he can without touching the needle because he was afraid i would pass out. So as the blood was being returned again, i was holding onto my tongue... it hurt! He then pulled the needle out which hurt a lot also, and right when it was out, i instantly felt so much better! They were nice enough to still pay me even though i didn't donate the full amount i was suppose to. My arm hurt and i was mad because it took so long and i missed all my SI classes. Well i get home and my arm is bruised. They warned me of it and i was surprised it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.
Well that happened Thursday. So Saturday Aimee and we go back down to donate again. I went through the whole process of questions and blood pressure and temperature and even pricking my finger. I was ready to go until they saw my bruise. They had to go get someone to look at it. So... i was told that in our left arm we only have one red blood veiny thing, idk what its called, which means that if something happened during the donating and couldn't return the blood back to me they would have to return it back to me in my other arm, my right one. Well... since i had a massive bruise they said they aren't allowed to prick any bruises. So basically they wouldn't let me donate. Now if this bruise would have been on my left arm instead, all would have
been fine. Because i guess in our right arms we have two red blood veiny things so if something happened they could return blood to the other vein. I wish i would have just donated in my left arm like i usually do!!! So they said i couldn't donate until my bruise was completely gone. WHAT!!!??? You don't understand. Bruises don't leave my body for weeks!! I was so mad! I am missing out on over a $100 because of a stupid bruise! I have been icing this sucker and everything to get rid of it but still no sign. So i am slightly annoyed....

When it was all blue and hurting

Can't really tell but its all brown and spreading out
So now to next story. My friends Cody and Neil wanted to hike Crimson, which is just in Logan Canyon. So Hilary and me decide to go with them. This is Sunday afternoon and we leave around 2:45ish. We pull into a camp ground and park near where the entrance of the trail is. We start the hike and i was so excited. I love to hike and Logan Canyon has so many trails and cool places so i was excited to see everything. So we are hiking and it was pretty tough. Most of it was uphill and i really was feeling how out of shape i was! There were switch-backs after switch-backs! So i decided to take a "short" cut and try just climbing straight up the mountain and skipping a switch-back. I thought i could beat the rest of the group. WRONG IDEA! So basically i kept slipping down the mountain and it was a disaster. Everyone was waiting for me at the top and laughing. But i finally made it up there and decided no more short cuts! We get hiking again and it was beautiful! The leaves on the trees were starting to change colors so you would look out and see green and red and orange and oink and yellow trees. It was gorgeous!

Little patch of red trees hiding in there!
Not only me, but Cody also decided to try a short cut. Yeah we didn't see him till like maybe 20 minutes later! We see him puffing up the trail all dirty with scratches all over his legs.... haha it was kind of funny! But after we finally made it to the "wall" it was just flat ground walking and that was sooo nice. There were many cliffs that we stopped and sat at and took pictures! Here are a few!

Neil and Me

Hilary and Me
We also had to take some fun pictures!!!

Self timer success!!!

Self timer fail.... Cody and me hiding behind the weeds...I also got a bruise on my arm from trying to beat the timer and running into the rock!!

Finally some other camper hiked up and saw us struggling with a picture so he was nice enough to take one for us! :)
Cody's planking

Neil's planking....haha but look at the view between the rocks!! So cool!
The hike only got more and more BEAUTIFUL!!! The leaves on the tress were gorgeous! There was so much PINK! i was in heaven!!
Pink tree after pink tree after pink tree!!!

Pink tree with unicorn shirt...doesn't get much better than this!! haha

I felt like I was in candyland or or something!!
We then started to go downhill. That was surprisingly not too fun. Basically we catch ourselves running because it was so hard to walk just straight down! But after a while we came to a creek and decided to hike down the trail by walking on rocks and such in the creek. It was super fun! Trying not to get wet but trekking our way through. I did not want to fall in and get my shoes wet. Wet shoes and feet on a hike is the worst! I tried so hard....but you know me.... I fell in and my shoes were and socks were completely soaked! But it was still fun and something different than just walking down dirt and rocks. We climb out and we come to a trail that would lead back to the beginning of the one we took. I was so tired and we had been hiking for hours. It said 1.4 more miles to go! I was ready to call it a day. Wet feet sucks! So we start on the trail and we come to a fork and the boys decide to take the one on the right and they like left us... I knew the one on the left was the one trail we were on so i knew they were wrong and i figured they were just doing that to scare us or to test that one out. We figured they would catch up to us once they saw they were wrong. Well no.... we kept going and going and no boys. We hiked for probably 20-30 minutes and we came to another fork. There was a sign that said "Nature Trail" pointing to the right and then no sign for the one on the left. We decided the one on the left had to be the right way because the Nature one was a new trail and it looked like it was going back up the mountain. Bad idea. Low and behold, we were originally on the Nature trail....we should have followed the sign. But we didn't know so we hiked and hiked and our trail came to an end. To the river. I was like "crap"...... We didn't want to hike all the way back to take the other trail because it would take forever! We figured the campground was just on the other side of the river and we could just walked to it there. So we crossed the river....Got soaked but we made it across! Once across we found the campground. So we walked the whole campground looking for Neil's car. We walked and searched and we couldn't find it! We both didn't pay attention to were we parked to begin with so we had no idea where to go. We seriously walked that campground forever. We cam to a bridge and i remembered driving over it but then i remembered crossing back over it so i "knew" the car wasn't on that side. Oh but really it was! But we ruled that area out. So we walk some more and i have the not so brilliant idea of going into the jungle and to go to the campground next to it cause maybe we parked over there. So we seriously crossed a jungle....hand and knees in some parts to get through all the vegetation and bush and trees. But it was never ending. There was no campground next to it.... So we go north and head to the main canyon road. I am starting to freak out here and i start to mini hyperventilate and cry. Like i thought it was funny but at the same time i was scared. Hilary was more positive and laughing about it and trying to calm me down. hahaha We try to figure out what to do next. We could start walking home and maybe hitch hike or go back to the camp ground and try to find the boys. We decided to go back because there was no way that the boys would leave us. So we walk back. Hilary did find this gross looking caterpillar that was yellow and black and had like white spikes on it. We named him Fuzzy Wuzzy and he kept our minds off of being lost for a little bit.

This is what he looked like!!!
We make it back to the campground and we sit down at the front where there is a big map. We remembered stopping and looking at that. We sit there for like 20 minutes and i finally said that we should probably say a prayer. So i prayed asking for help that we would know what to do. 5 minutes later i felt like we should go to this trailer that was next to us (We saw a couple riding on a golf cart a few times and they looked like the managers of the park and the trailer was there's). I knock on the door and a lady answers and we tell her we were lost. She asked us if we drove here and we said yes. She then got rude and was like "i just ticketed your car!" We then told her the full story how we got split up and then we crossed the stupid river and crawled through a jungle and we were wet and cold and it was getting dark! She then felt bad and got all nice and told us she would drive us to where she last saw the car. She asked us when was the last time we ate and we said we got here around 3. She was then like "oh you girls must be starving!" That kinda freaked me out because i had no idea what time it was! She did tell us that she saw two boys waiting around it and that when she gave them the ticket they said they would have to go get some money. So then i freaked out thinking "great, the boys did leave us!" But she drove over that stupid bridge which i swore the car wasn't over there, and she drove straight to Neil's car. We got out and there was a note on the windshield that said "Kim stay here". The lady was super nice and asked us if we wanted to wait in her trailer so we could be warm and then she could feed us. But we told her we should wait here for the boys and if they didn't show up soon we would come back to her trailer. So Hilary and me sat by the cars and just waited. It was so cold! We were wet and hungry and i was upset because i was worrying about the boys thinking that maybe they fell off the mountain because it was so dark and they were unconscious or dead! I was so cold. I seriously was going to go ask the people next to us if we could sit by there fire while we waited. But luckily soon after that thought we heard the boys and saw them come down the tail. We only sat there for like 30 minutes. I was so happy to see them but it was a different story for them! They come running to us and instantly start yelling at us! I was like "are you kidding me!" After they finished and they saw how upset i was they started to feel bad and they listened to our story. Turns out they took a harder trail and couldn't believe they beat us to the car because ours lead straight there. They then went looking for us when we didn't show up. All in all, it was scary and i was still shaken up about the whole thing. As we were leaving the campground we pull over to the trailer to pay for the parking ticket. The lady saw us and was like "oh i am so glad you girls found them!" She then ripped up the ticket and said the boys didn't have to pay it because us girls went through SO much! hahahaha She then slipped me and Hilary a granola bar each. Hahaha the boys were like "what about us?!" haha it was kinda funny. We make it back to our apartments and it was around 8pm. So weren't lost for hours and hours, just probably an hour and a half. But being back at the apartment and talking off my wet shoes and eating and showering NEVER felt so good! What a weekend!!! Never am i going to separate from the group when hiking AGAIN!!!! Especially since i didn't know the trail and area!!! What a weekend!!
But i am so grateful for the beautiful creations that Heavenly Father has blessed us with. I honestly think that the Logan, Utah Canyon is the one of the prettiest places on Earth!!! :)
